Employee Entry

Employee Records contain information about any employee and can be detailed or simple depending on your organization’s needs. The Employee record is also tied closely to Maintenance as these employee records are used to populate the Issue To field and every Mobile user must be linked to an employee record.

To get to Employee Entry go to:

  1. Module
  2. Employees
  3. Employee Entry

Creating an Employee

The top section of the screen has all of the Mandatory Fields:

Employee # – this will be the identifier for the Employee Record. It can be made up of letters, numbers, and dashes. Note: Some clients use actual employee numbers for this, but that is not necessary.

Employee Status – There are 2 employee statuses in Directline, Active and Inactive. When an employee leaves or retires, set their employee entry to inactive. Since most employee searches in the system default to searching for active employees, this will remove them without losing historical data.

Surname – Type the Employee’s last name

Given Name – Type the Employees First Name
